Treyarch Studio Head Mark Gordon Departs After 22 Years
Mark Gordon, the head of Treyarch studio, has announced his departure after serving the company for 22 years. His exit makes way for Yale Miller and Kevin Hendrickson to assume leadership as co-studio heads. Gordon's departure follows a period where other key personnel have also left the Call of Duty developer, which is not expected to release a new game in the main series for another two years.

Mark Gordon, the studio head at Treyarch, is stepping down from his role after 22 years with the company. Treyarch announced the news, stating that Gordon is leaving to pursue the next chapter of his career, with details yet to be revealed.
Following Gordon's departure, Yale Miller and Kevin Hendrickson will take over leadership as co-studio heads. Both Miller and Hendrickson have long tenures with Activision, contributing to the Call of Duty franchise on numerous occasions.
Gordon's exit occurs a few years after David Vonderhaar, Treyarch's studio design director known for overseeing multiplayer modes in the Black Ops series, also left to establish his own studio.
Treyarch is not anticipated to release a new Call of Duty title for the next two years, assuming no significant changes to the development cycle. Infinity Ward is set to release Modern Warfare 4 later this year, and Sledgehammer Games is expected, though not confirmed, to launch a new entry in the franchise next year.
It remains unconfirmed if Treyarch is developing another Black Ops game. While Black Ops 6 was commercially successful, Black Ops 7 was considered a commercial disappointment. Rumors suggest that Activision and Treyarch may be planning to re-release Black Ops 1 and 2 for modern hardware, with fans reportedly finding listings for these titles in PlayStation's backend. Treyarch recently updated Black Ops 7 with a new playlist called Black Ops Classic, which features older maps and modified gameplay in line with the original Black Ops titles. Some have speculated this could be a precursor to the re-releases.
