England international Bukayo Saka has admitted to an ongoing fitness gamble concerning a nagging achilles injury as he prepares for the World Cup finals. Despite this, the Arsenal forward expressed his readiness to participate in the tournament.
England manager Thomas Tuchel affirmed that Saka's fitness is being meticulously monitored by the team's medical staff. Saka made an appearance off the bench during England's recent warm-up game against Costa Rica.
The 24-year-old is believed to have sustained the achilles injury during the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City in March. This injury led to him missing seven consecutive matches for Arsenal.
Since returning, Saka has completed a full 90 minutes only once across five appearances. He was also substituted before the end of normal time in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
