Cocktail 2 Receives 'A' Certificate from CBFC, Sets for June 19 Release
The upcoming film "Cocktail 2," starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has been granted an 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The rom-com, directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, is scheduled to premiere in cinemas on Friday, June 19. With a runtime of 150 minutes, this marks Kriti Sanon's first adult-rated film in her 12-year career and Rashmika Mandanna's second 'A'-rated Hindi film.

The film "Cocktail 2," featuring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has been certified with an 'A' (Adult) rating by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The movie, a romantic comedy, is set to be released in cinemas on Friday, June 19. Advance bookings for the film commenced on June 14.
"Cocktail 2" has a runtime of 150 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours and 30 minutes. This certification is a notable career milestone for its lead actors. For Kriti Sanon, it signifies her first adult-rated film in her 12-year career in the industry.
Rashmika Mandanna receives her second 'A'-rated Hindi film with "Cocktail 2," following her role in the 2023 release "Animal." Shahid Kapoor, a veteran in the industry, adds this to his filmography as his fifth adult-rated film, having previously starred in "Kaminey" (2009), "Udta Punjab" (2016), "Kabir Singh" (2019), and "O'Romeo" (2026). This also marks the first instance in Kapoor’s career where he will have two consecutive adult-rated films, with "O'Romeo" being his most recent release.
The sequel, like its predecessor "Cocktail" (2012), is directed by Homi Adajania and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The first installment, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, had received a U/A certificate from the CBFC and had a runtime of 146 minutes, making it four minutes shorter than "Cocktail 2."
According to Bollywood Hungama, "Cocktail 2" is one of two eagerly anticipated films releasing in the coming weeks, alongside "Welcome To The Jungle."
