First Official Studio Ghibli Store, Donguri Republic, Opens in Los Angeles
The first official Studio Ghibli store in the U.S., known as Donguri Republic, is scheduled to open in Los Angeles on June 23. Located at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, California, the store will feature over 400 officially licensed products. Items will be available from popular films such as "My Neighbor Totoro," "Spirited Away," and "Howl's Moving Castle."
The first official Studio Ghibli store in the United States, Donguri Republic, is set to open in Los Angeles on June 23. This new retail location will be situated at the Del Amo Fashion Center, specifically at Shop No. 179 at 3525 W. Carson St., Torrance, CA.
Donguri Republic aims to offer a retail experience designed to reflect Studio Ghibli's storytelling. The store will feature wood-inspired interiors, whimsical displays, and a large Totoro installation at a bus stop, alongside custom storefront artwork depicting Mei and Little Totoro.
Customers will find more than 400 officially licensed products, including merchandise from beloved films like "My Neighbor Totoro," "Kiki's Delivery Service," "Spirited Away," and "Howl's Moving Castle." Other films represented include "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind," "Castle in the Sky," "Porco Rosso," "Whisper of the Heart," "Princess Mononoke," "The Cat Returns," "Ponyo," and "The Boy and the Heron."
The store will operate daily, with hours from Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 9 pm PT, and Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm PT. It is expected to remain open until December 31, 2026. Special promotions include a limited-edition Donguri Republic Los Angeles tote bag for purchases of $100 or more, available while supplies last. Fans attending Studio Ghibli Fest 2026 screenings may also receive exclusive movie film-style bookmarks with qualifying purchases.
