Hong Kong Dancer Awarded HK$6.29 Million in Damages After Concert Accident
A Hong Kong District Court has awarded dancer Mo Li Kai-yin HK$6.29 million (US$802,698) in damages. Li was paralysed four years ago after being struck by a falling giant screen during a concert by Cantopop boy band Mirror. The court ruled that Li was entitled to substantial compensation from his employer, Studiodanz, under the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance, following "catastrophic" injuries sustained in the incident.

A Hong Kong court has awarded HK$6.29 million (US$802,698) in damages to dancer Mo Li Kai-yin. The award comes after Li was left paralysed when a giant screen fell during a Cantopop boy band Mirror concert four years ago.
The District Court delivered its written judgment on Monday. It determined that Mo Li Kai-yin was entitled to significant damages from his employer, Studiodanz, in accordance with the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance.
Li sustained "catastrophic" injuries during the accident, which occurred at the Hong Kong Coliseum on July 28, 2022.
According to the South China Morning Post, the court ruled in favor of the dancer.
