Lewis Hamilton achieved his maiden Formula 1 victory for Ferrari at the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix. This win marks a significant milestone for the veteran British driver and seven-times world champion, ending a run of 40 grands prix without a victory.
The race concluded with an all-British podium, a feat not seen since 1968. Hamilton was followed by his compatriot George Russell of Mercedes in second place, with Lando Norris of McLaren securing third. Ferrari's three-stop strategy was noted as a factor in outmaneuvering Russell during the race.
Intense drama unfolded behind Hamilton as drivers' championship leader Kimi Antonelli, Russell's teammate, battled for second position. Antonelli, who had led the race earlier, was forced to retire with five laps remaining shortly after overtaking Russell.
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, who started 10th on the grid after a qualifying crash, also retired late in the race due to a technical issue.
The top seven finishers included Max Verstappen of Red Bull in fourth, Oscar Piastri of McLaren in fifth, Isack Hadjar of Red Bull in sixth, and Pierre Gasly of Alpine in seventh.
