Reggae Fest is slated to return to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on August 15, with Jamaican dancehall artist Masicka confirmed as the headliner. The event, described as New York City's largest dancehall celebration, will feature the prominent artist known for his growing catalog of hits.
Ticket presales are scheduled to commence on Wednesday, June 17, at 10:00 a.m. ET. The general public can purchase tickets starting Thursday, June 18, at 10:00 a.m. ET.
CJ Milan, Reggae Fest founder and CEO, highlighted Masicka's current standing, stating, “Masicka is in his prime right now; ‘Slip & Slide’ is big; he’s definitely one of the hottest [artists right now]. And he's also just an amazing person.” Grammy-nominated reggae artist Protoje also praised Masicka's unique presence in contemporary dancehall, noting his consistent quality on features.
Masicka's recent successes include his 2023 major label debut album, *Generation of Kings*, which reached No. 2 on the Reggae Albums chart. His *Her Name Is Love* EP received a dancehall album of the year nomination at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards. His popular tracks include “Whites,” “Mute,” “Tyrant,” “Rich Sex,” and his Caribbean Music Award-winning collaboration “Hit & Run” with Shenseea and Di Genius.
Barclays Center has become a significant venue for Caribbean music, hosting seven Caribbean-headlined concerts in 2025, which generated 20% of the arena's total gross revenue and attracted over 80,000 fans. Reggae Fest alone has hosted six events between 2024 and 2026, contributing to this growth. Brooklyn’s strong Caribbean cultural ties, including the Little Caribbean district designated in 2017, further solidify the borough's role as a hub for dancehall.
Reggae Fest, which began as a dance party in 2015 at the Rooftop at Pier 17, has expanded to sold-out arena shows, demonstrating the increasing appeal of dancehall music. The festival's first full dancehall show at Barclays Center, featuring artists like Mavado, Elephant Man, Aidonia, and Mr. Vegas, was a sell-out success.
According to Billboard, the information was confirmed on Monday, June 15.
