Real Madrid to Receive €15m as Newcastle United Nears Victor Munoz Deal
Real Madrid is reportedly set to receive €15 million from a sell-on clause as Newcastle United closes in on a deal for winger Victor Munoz. Munoz, 22, was sold by Real Madrid to Osasuna for €6 million last summer, with the Spanish giants retaining 50% of his rights and a buy-back option. His strong performance at Osasuna, including seven goals and five assists in 36 appearances, has attracted interest from various European clubs, with Newcastle United emerging as a leading suitor.
Real Madrid is reportedly poised to receive €15 million as Newcastle United nears a deal for winger Victor Munoz. This payment stems from a sell-on clause established during Munoz's transfer from Real Madrid to Osasuna last summer.
Real Madrid sold Munoz to Osasuna for €6 million. As part of that agreement, they retained 50% of his rights, along with a buy-back clause. Munoz, 22, has performed well during his first season at El Sadar, scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 36 appearances.
His performances have reportedly drawn interest from several European clubs, including Premier League side Newcastle United. Newcastle United is said to be seeking a replacement for Anthony Gordon. According to Diario AS, an agreement in principle for a €30 million deal to bring Munoz to the North East of England is nearing completion, with only minor details remaining.
Real Madrid opted not to activate their buy-back clause. However, by retaining 50% of his rights, they are entitled to receive €15 million from the reported €30 million transfer fee. This influx of funds could potentially be used by Real Madrid as they continue to explore additions for their squad.
