Ruben Amorim, Oliver Glasner Among Candidates for AC Milan Managerial Post
Ruben Amorim, identified as a former Manchester United manager, is reportedly a candidate for the vacant AC Milan managerial position. The Italian club is also considering Crystal Palace's departing manager Oliver Glasner and Al Ahli's Matthias Jaissle. Milan is seeking a new head coach after dismissing Massimiliano Allegri following a disappointing 2025/26 Serie A campaign, which saw them miss out on Champions League qualification.
Ruben Amorim, a manager described as formerly of Manchester United, is reportedly among the names being considered for the vacant AC Milan head coach role. Amorim's tenure at Old Trafford concluded in January, following a period at Sporting CP that was described as "highly successful." He has been without a club for six months.
AC Milan is preparing to make contact with several candidates as part of their search for a new manager. The club recently dismissed Massimiliano Allegri after a disappointing conclusion to the 2025/26 Serie A campaign.
Among the other managers on Milan's shortlist is Oliver Glasner, the current Crystal Palace manager, who is set to depart Selhurst Park this summer. Glasner is noted for overseeing what has been described as "the most successful spell" in Crystal Palace's history, having guided the team to the FA Cup, Community Shield, and the Europa Conference League, establishing him as the club's "most successful manager of all time."
Matthias Jaissle, manager of Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli, is also reportedly in contention. Jaissle's previous achievements include winning "consecutive league titles" with Red Bull Salzburg before his move to Saudi Arabia, where he has since secured the Saudi Cup and the AFC Champions League Elite twice.
Milan's decision to seek a new manager follows a challenging end to their season, which saw them fail to qualify for the Champions League after a 2-1 defeat against Cagliari on the final day.
