The Blank Slate, an electric pickup truck developed by Slate Auto, is expected to make its formal debut next week. This highly anticipated electric vehicle is designed with a refreshingly simple, back-to-basics philosophy, aiming to reduce the overall cost of a new car.
The minimalist design means that features such as electric windows are optional extras, and the truck does not include an infotainment system or an embedded modem. The Blank Slate offers a compact footprint, a 150-mile (241 km) range, and the future option to convert it into an SUV or fastback.
Recent information suggests the truck may start at a price of $24,950. When Slate Auto initially revealed the vehicle in 2025, it targeted a price of around $20,000, which factored in the $7,500 IRS clean vehicle tax credit. However, this tax credit was abolished later that year.
According to Ars Technica, the official launch event for the Blank Slate is scheduled for next week.
