China's C919 Aircraft Undergo Critical C-Checks Amid European Scrutiny
China's C919 civilian airliners are entering a significant maintenance phase, undergoing rigorous "C-checks" three years after their maiden commercial flight. These safety-focused inspections are crucial for demonstrating the aircraft's long-term airworthiness and are being closely watched by European aviation regulators. State-owned carrier China Southern Airlines notably completed the first C-check of its C919 fleet at the end of May.

The C919, designated as China's flagship civilian airliner, has begun a pivotal maintenance stage, with aircraft across the series progressively grounded for comprehensive inspections.
These rigorous evaluations, known as "C-checks," are designed to assess the aircraft's safety and operational integrity. The outcomes of these inspections are anticipated to be instrumental in reassuring European aviation regulators regarding the C919's sustained airworthiness.
State-owned operator China Southern Airlines concluded the initial C-check for its C919 fleet in late May, marking a significant step in the aircraft's maintenance cycle.
According to South China Morning Post, these checks are a standard, yet critical, part of an airliner's operational lifespan, aiming to ensure the fleet meets stringent safety and performance standards.
