Damien Perrinelle Expected to Take Helm at Red Star
Damien Perrinelle, former AS Monaco assistant manager, is reportedly set to be named the new manager of Ligue 2 club Red Star. Perrinelle's departure from Monaco in May was driven by his ambition to secure a first-team managerial position. This appointment would mark his debut as a senior team coach.
Damien Perrinelle is reportedly poised to become the new manager for Ligue 2 side Red Star. This move follows his departure from AS Monaco, where he served as an assistant manager.
Perrinelle previously managed Monaco's academy team before being integrated into the first-team setup under Adi Hutter. He remained with the first-team staff last season, even after Hutter's departure, and was a key part of Sébastien Pocognoli's team.
His exit from the Principality club was officialized in May. Despite AS Monaco's desire to retain him, Perrinelle expressed a wish to transition into a first-team managerial role. He had previously indicated an interest in taking charge of a Ligue 2 club.
At Red Star, Perrinelle is expected to replace Grégory Poirier, who left the club at the end of the season after leading them to the Ligue 1 promotion/relegation play-offs. This position will be the former Clermont Foot and New York Red Bulls defender's first as a first-team head coach.
According to L’Équipe, Perrinelle is set to take on the role. (Source: Yahoo Sports Soccer)
