Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Set for Q2 2027 Launch Across Multiple Platforms
The final chapter of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy, *Final Fantasy 7 Revelation*, is scheduled to launch in Q2 2027. This installment will be available day-one for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2, marking a shift from the previous games' timed PlayStation exclusives. The game continues the narrative after *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth*, bringing Cloud and his party closer to their confrontation with Sephiroth while introducing new gameplay elements and playable characters.

*Final Fantasy 7 Revelation*, the concluding installment of the *Final Fantasy 7 Remake* trilogy, is slated for release in Q2 2027. Unlike its predecessors, *Revelation* will launch simultaneously across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2, as announced by Square Enix.
The game picks up after the events of *Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth*, continuing the main narrative that has seen deviations from the original *Final Fantasy 7* story, incorporating reimagined characters, events, distorted timelines, and multiversal themes. Cloud and his party are set to travel to iconic locations, such as Wutai, to thwart Sephiroth's plan to achieve godhood by merging alternate timelines using Meteor magic. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi has indicated this installment will provide a definitive conclusion to the saga, though future character-specific stories may still be possible.
Gameplay in *Revelation* will retain the hybrid combat system from *Remake* and *Rebirth*, offering both fast-paced action and classic turn-based tactical options. A new feature, the Function Integrated Tactical Suitware (FITS) system, introduces job-like outfits that grant wearers new battle skills. Each character will have four FITS options, with Warrior and Black Mage suits already revealed.
The game will expand upon *Rebirth*'s open-world exploration, allowing players to traverse Midgar via Cid's airship and parachute into seamlessly connected locations like the tropical rainforest of Mideel and Yuffie's hometown of Wutai. The formidable Weapons, the planet's guardians, return as kaiju-sized threats. Minigames will also be present but are designed to be optional, with cosmetic rewards rather than crucial story progression or equipment.
New playable characters, Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine, will join Cloud's party. Cid specializes in area-of-effect attacks with his lance, while Vincent offers versatile combat with gunplay and beast transformations. The main cast—Cloud, Barrett, Tifa, Yuffie, and Cait Sith—will also be present. Sephiroth will be voiced by Tyler Willingham in this title, replacing Tyler Hoechlin due to scheduling conflicts.
Pre-orders for *Final Fantasy 7 Revelation* are not yet open.
