GM Launches Vehicle-to-Grid Charging for Energy Customers
General Motors has activated its vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging system for customers of GM Energy. This technology allows electric vehicles to supply power to homes and potentially contribute to local power grids. The automaker initiated the service for its energy customers, expanding the utility of their electric vehicles beyond transportation.

General Motors has announced the activation of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging capabilities for its GM Energy customers. This system is designed to allow compatible electric vehicles to transfer stored energy back to a home or, in broader applications, to a local power grid.
The initiative enables GM electric vehicles to function as a power source, offering potential benefits such as backup power during outages or supplementing the grid's supply.
According to Wired, the automaker is turning on this service today for its GM Energy customers.
