HKU and CUHK Achieve Top 20 Global University Ranking for First Time
The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) have both been ranked among the top 20 universities in a global league table. This marks the first occasion that two institutions from Hong Kong have simultaneously achieved such high global standing. CUHK notably improved its reputation among employers, contributing to this milestone.

The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) have secured positions among the world’s top 20 universities in a recently published global league table.
This achievement represents a historic first for the city, as it is the inaugural time that two of Hong Kong’s universities have simultaneously reached such a high global ranking. Among the notable advancements, CUHK recorded significant gains in its reputation among employers.
The UK-based education information firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) also highlighted on Thursday that Hong Kong's higher education system has been recognized as Asia's most improved for the second consecutive year. This overall improvement includes seven of the city's universities.
