Hong Kong Experiences Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms, Amber Warning Issued
Hong Kong was affected by heavy showers and thunderstorms on Saturday as a trough of low pressure moved over the Pearl River Estuary. The Hong Kong Observatory issued an amber rainstorm warning, the lowest tier in a three-level system, at 5 am, which was subsequently cancelled at 8:45 am. Many areas across the city recorded more than 30mm of rainfall during the morning, with Tsuen Wan notably experiencing 70mm.

The downpours prompted the Hong Kong Observatory to issue an amber rainstorm warning, the lowest alert in its three-tier system. The warning was put in place at 5 am and lifted at 8:45 am on the same day.
During the morning, various parts of the city recorded over 30mm of rainfall. Tsuen Wan was particularly affected, receiving 70mm of rain, a figure comparable to the threshold for a top-tier black rainstorm warning.
According to the South China Morning Post, the city is anticipated to face another wet weekend.
