Hong Kong Filipino Workers Launch Fundraiser for Philippines Earthquake Victims
Filipino domestic workers in Hong Kong have initiated a month-long fundraising campaign to provide assistance to families affected by a recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the southern Philippines. The Abra Tingguian Ilocano Society is organizing the effort, collecting donations at various locations to supply urgent needs such as food, drinking water, and medicine. The campaign aims to raise at least HK$20,000 (US$2,550) to support the affected communities.

Filipino domestic workers residing in Hong Kong have launched a month-long fundraising initiative aimed at assisting families affected by a recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake in the southern region of their home country. Organizers have identified food, drinking water, and medicine as immediate necessities for those impacted by the disaster.
The Abra Tingguian Ilocano Society is spearheading the campaign. Representatives from the society were actively collecting donations at multiple sites, including an event held outside City Hall in Central on a recent Sunday.
This fundraising effort seeks to gather at least HK$20,000, equivalent to approximately US$2,550, to support the affected communities in the Philippines.
According to the South China Morning Post, the campaign highlights the ongoing efforts by the Filipino community in Hong Kong to provide humanitarian aid following the natural disaster.
