Imran Khan Undergoes Fifth Eye Procedure at Pims Hospital

This marked his fifth anti-VEGF intravitreal injection for right central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), a condition that emerged in late January. Hospital sources reported he was clinically stable before, during, and after the procedure, showing clinical improvement, and was subsequently discharged with further care instructions. His previous injections were administered on January 24, February 24, March 23, and April 28. The medical care for Khan has been a point of contention between the government and the opposition, with the latter alleging a lack of transparency and restricted access for his personal physicians, claims which the government denies.

Khan's eye ailment, identified as right central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO), became known in late January. His first medical procedure for this condition was carried out on January 24. Subsequent doses of the anti-VEGF intravitreal injection were given on February 24, March 23, and April 28.
Over recent months, a political dispute has arisen between the government and the opposition concerning Khan's medical treatment. The opposition has accused the government of lacking transparency regarding his care and denying access to his personal physicians. The government, however, denies these allegations. Additionally, the opposition has called for the former premier to be transferred to Shifa International Hospital for treatment.
