According to reports, both Premier League clubs have contacted Palestra's entourage but have not formally opened negotiations with Atalanta. Chelsea's interest in Palestra is reportedly linked to their plans following Marc Cucurella's reported €60 million move to Real Madrid, while Manchester City is known for scanning Europe for technically gifted, versatile young players.
Palestra's reputation has grown significantly, notably after winning Serie A Defender of the Year in the 2025/26 season. During that season, he contributed one goal and four assists in 37 appearances for Cagliari.
