The "Pont Neuf Cavern," a new art installation by French street artist JR, is now accessible to the public in Paris. JR, sometimes referred to as the "French Banksy," created the artwork on Paris's oldest bridge, the Pont Neuf.
The installation utilizes printed fabric and air to transform the historic bridge into an artificial cavern. Visitors can experience the artwork through visual, auditory, and olfactory elements.
Accompanying the visual transformation is a sound installation crafted by Thomas Bangalter, a former member of the French electronic duo Daft Punk. This auditory component fills the cavern space with low rumbles, echoes, and pulses, enhancing the immersive experience.
According to France 24, the opening follows a period of anticipation for the unique art project.
