Katy Perry, LISA, Anitta, and other international artists performed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup USA Opening Ceremony on Friday, June 12, held at Inglewood’s Los Angeles Stadium. The event featured a diverse lineup of musical acts leading up to the U.S. Men's National Team's opening match against Paraguay, which the U.S. won 4-1. This was the final of three opening ceremonies for the tournament, following events in Mexico and Canada.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup USA Opening Ceremony took place on Friday, June 12, at Inglewood’s Los Angeles Stadium. The event featured a lineup of performers including Katy Perry, LISA, Anitta, Tyla, Rema, Future, Dan + Shay, Purahei Soul, and Tius Luka.
The ceremony began 90 minutes before kick-off with Future and Tyla performing their 2026 World Cup song, "Game Time." Following this, LISA, Anitta, and Rema presented "Goals," another track from the official World Cup album. After a break, Katy Perry took the stage with 10-year-old Norwegian singer Tius Luka to perform her 2024 song "Wonder," surrounded by the flags of all participating countries.
Purahei Soul performed the Paraguayan national anthem, while country duo Dan + Shay delivered "The Star-Spangled Banner" shortly before the match began. The U.S. Men’s National Team faced Paraguay in their first game of the tournament, securing a 4-1 victory. The U.S. team is scheduled to play their next game against Australia on June 19.
This event in the United States marked the final of three opening ceremonies for the 2026 World Cup. The ceremonies commenced with performances in Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca, featuring artists such as Shakira, Burna Boy, and J Balvin, among others, ahead of Mexico's opening match. Following this, Toronto’s BMO Field hosted Canada's opening ceremony with artists including Alanis Morissette and Michael Bublé. Tyla was the only artist to perform at both the U.S. and Mexico opening ceremonies. Shakira is also slated to headline the 2026 World Cup Final halftime show alongside BTS and Madonna.
