Marvel Studios Developing Nova Film, Michael Waldron Attached to Write and Potentially Direct

Marvel Studios is reportedly developing a new film focusing on the character Nova, signaling an intent to expand its roster of heroes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The project is currently in its early stages of development.

Michael Waldron, who served as a writer for "Loki" and "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," is attached to write the script for the Nova film. There is also a possibility that Waldron could take on directing duties for the project.

This is not the first time Marvel has considered adapting Nova. The character was initially planned to appear in "Guardians of the Galaxy" in the early 2010s but was ultimately cut from the script. Kevin Feige has previously expressed interest in bringing Nova to the screen. More recently, Sabir Pirzada was developing a Nova television series, likely for Disney+, which was put on hold last year. The current pivot to a feature film suggests a continued commitment to introducing Nova.

Nova is characterized as a figure similar to Green Lantern, operating within a space police organization known as the Nova Corps. This force harnesses a powerful cosmic energy called Nova Force, enabling them to combat threats and safeguard the galaxy. Speculation suggests Nova's potential introduction could occur after "Avengers: Secret Wars," which is scheduled for release next year.

According to IGN, these details indicate a renewed focus on integrating Nova into the MCU.
