Insomniac Games' upcoming title, Marvel's Wolverine, took center stage at Sony's 2026 State of Play showcase. This marked the longest demonstration of the game to date, following a promotional period characterized by small teasers as its September release date approaches.
The eight-minute gameplay demo began with Wolverine positioned atop a roof, observing armed guards before initiating an aerial takedown. The demonstration showcased the hero performing stealth maneuvers, utilizing his Adamantium claws against enemies, and engaging in graphic combat scenarios, including dismemberment of foes.
During a large-scale melee, fellow X-Men member Jean Grey joined Wolverine. A segment of the combat depicted Wolverine glowing red while his surroundings turned white, suggesting a 'berserker mode' feature. The presentation concluded with a dynamic set piece where Wolverine leaped from a cliff on a motorcycle, landing on a moving truck.
