Meta Launches AI Mode for Facebook Search, Utilizing Public Posts
Meta is introducing an "AI Mode" for Facebook search, designed to provide AI-generated results by drawing information from publicly available content across its platforms. This new search option will appear alongside existing modes like "People" and "Marketplace" when users perform a search on Facebook. The company is rolling out several new AI features, including photo presets and collage templates, with the AI Mode offering synthesized responses and the ability for users to ask follow-up questions.
Meta has begun rolling out new artificial intelligence features, including a dedicated "AI Mode" for its Facebook search functionality.
This new AI Mode is designed to provide users with AI-generated results. Unlike traditional search that primarily delivers links, this feature pulls information from publicly posted content across Meta's platforms. When users conduct a search on Facebook, the "AI Mode" option will be presented alongside established search modes such as "People" and "Marketplace."
Users of the new AI Mode will also have the capability to ask follow-up questions to the AI in response to their search queries. This functionality is consistent with the AI search feature previously introduced in Meta's Forum app.
Alongside the AI Mode search, Meta is also implementing other AI-driven enhancements. These include photo presets that can digitally swap sports jerseys onto fan images and provide suggestions for collage templates.
According to The Verge, these new AI features are part of a broader rollout by Meta starting today.
