Miles Russell, 17, Qualifies for US Open; Charlie Woods Caddies at Qualifier
Seventeen-year-old Miles Russell, ranked the No. 10 amateur in the world, has secured a spot in the upcoming US Open. He qualified from the Florida event, earning one of the four available spots after surviving a playoff hole. For the 36-hole qualifier, Russell’s caddie was Charlie Woods, the son of three-time champion Tiger Woods. It remains undetermined whether Woods will continue as Russell’s caddie for the main tournament.

Miles Russell, a 17-year-old amateur golfer, has successfully qualified for the US Open. Russell was one of two 17-year-olds to earn a spot in the prestigious tournament, which is scheduled to begin next week at Shinnecock Hills.
Russell, who holds the No. 10 ranking among amateur golfers globally, secured the fourth and final qualifying spot from the Florida qualifier. His successful bid followed a playoff hole where he overcame a bogey.
During the 36-hole qualifying event, Russell was caddied by Charlie Woods, the son of golf icon Tiger Woods. Russell and Woods are described as close friends. They share the same commercial agent and are slated to play college golf together at Florida State.
Whether Charlie Woods will continue to caddie for Miles Russell at Shinnecock Hills for the main US Open tournament has not yet been determined.
