Rogers was also part of the Sandwell Academy team that won the National Schools Cup in 2017.

Scott Follis, now the head of PE at Sandwell Academy, taught Rogers and immediately recognized his exceptional talent. Follis described Rogers as a natural, effortless player whose abilities stood out.
Follis and the PE department have followed Rogers' career, noting his progress through loan spells and into first teams. Follis expressed excitement upon learning of Rogers' selection for a summer tournament, seeing it as a significant stage for the player.
Rogers' success continues to serve as an inspiration for current students at Sandwell Academy, who often inquire about his time at the school. According to Scott Follis, students are well aware of his connection to the academy and the teachers who instructed him.
