New Shelter for Filipino Domestic Workers in Hong Kong Ready, Awaits Government Approval
A new shelter located in a Tai Po villa in Hong Kong, intended for distressed Filipino domestic workers, is prepared to open. However, it requires official approval from local authorities before it can commence operations. Hans Leo J. Cacdac, the Philippines' Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers, has described the facility as being larger, improved, and more comfortable.

A new facility designed to serve as a shelter for distressed Filipino domestic workers in Hong Kong has been completed. The shelter, situated in a Tai Po villa, is currently awaiting the necessary authorization from local authorities to begin operations.
Hans Leo J. Cacdac, Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers for the Philippines, stated that the new shelter is ready. He further described the facility as being "bigger, better and more comfortable" compared to previous provisions.
Cesar L. Chavez Jnr, the labour attache at the Philippine consulate, also contributed information regarding the shelter's readiness and pending status.
According to the South China Morning Post, the shelter cannot open until it receives the required government approval.
