Roman Bellic Actor Expresses Desire for Grand Theft Auto 4 Remaster

Jason Zumwalt, the actor behind the character Roman Bellic in Grand Theft Auto 4, has expressed his desire for a remaster of the game. He stated his confusion as to why such an update has not been produced for the title.

Zumwalt suggested that a potential factor preventing a Grand Theft Auto 4 remaster could be linked to Screen Actors Guild (SAG) contracts, speculating that Rockstar may be hesitant to revisit the game due to contractual obligations.

According to Zumwalt, Grand Theft Auto 4 possesses the strongest storyline within the franchise, highlighting its combination of personal narrative and grounded storytelling. This, he believes, created a unique appeal that Grand Theft Auto 5 did not fully recapture. In contrast, Grand Theft Auto 5 has achieved 230 million lifetime sales and has been remastered for two new console generations.

Despite recurring rumors over the years regarding a GTA 4 remaster or port for current-gen consoles, including a report that suggested a late 2025 release, none of these reports have materialized. Grand Theft Auto 4 remains without a modern update.

In other news for the franchise, Grand Theft Auto 6 is slated for release on November 19 for Xbox and PlayStation. Preorders for the game have recently opened. The upcoming title will feature a modern-day criminal couple, Lucia and Jason Duva, as they navigate the criminal underworld of Vice City.

According to GameSpot, Rockstar has not yet revealed further details about the Grand Theft Auto 6 campaign prior to its launch.
