Taylor Swift Matches Elvis Presley's Australian No. 1 Singles Record on ARIA Chart
Taylor Swift's latest single, "I Knew It, I Knew You," has debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Chart, marking her 14th chart-topping single in Australia. This achievement places Swift on par with Elvis Presley for the second-highest number of No. 1 singles in Australian history. Meanwhile, Niall Horan secured his second solo No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart with his new release, "Dinner Party."
Taylor Swift has achieved her 14th No. 1 single in Australia with the debut of "I Knew It, I Knew You" on the ARIA Chart. This milestone ties Swift with Elvis Presley for the second-most No. 1 chart-toppers in the country's history. The Beatles hold the overall record with 26 No. 1 singles.
It is noted that all of The Beatles' and Elvis Presley's No. 1 hits predate the official launch of the ARIA Charts in 1983. Swift's new single, featured in the film 'Toy Story 5,' contributes to her accumulating 35 weeks at the No. 1 position on Australia’s singles chart.
On the ARIA Albums Chart, Niall Horan's third studio album, "Dinner Party," debuted at No. 1, marking his second solo chart-topper following 2023's "The Show." His previous albums, "Flicker" (2017) and "Heartbreak Weather" (2020), both peaked at No. 2. As a member of One Direction, Horan contributed to four No. 1 albums: "Up All Night" (2011), "Take Me Home" (2012), "Midnight Memories" (2013), and "Four" (2014). Horan is scheduled to return to Australia for a four-date arena tour in February.
Evanescence's sixth studio album, "Sanctuary," entered the ARIA Albums Chart at No. 2, continuing their streak of top 10 appearances which includes "Fallen" (No. 1 in 2003) and "The Open Door" (No. 1 in 2006). The band has also announced an Australian tour for early 2027. Malcolm Todd's "Do That Again" debuted at No. 3, his first entry on the ARIA Albums Chart, while his single "Earrings" remains at No. 10 on the national singles chart.
Vika & Linda's ninth studio album, "Where Do You Come From?," debuted at No. 11, following their induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame. This marks their fifth top 10 appearance, which includes their 2020 No. 1 retrospective "Akilotoa (Anthology 1994-2006)."
Other notable movements on the ARIA Charts include G Flip's "Bed On Fire" reaching a new peak at No. 28, Rum Jungle's "Marginalia" debuting at No. 19, and re-entries or new entries into the top 40 for Freye Skye, Pink Floyd, Pretty Littles, and Vince Staples.
According to Billboard, the ARIA Chart was published on Friday, June 12.
