Thune: Votes Lacking to Overcome Filibuster for SAVE America Act
Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) announced on Tuesday that his conference currently does not possess enough votes to bypass the legislative filibuster. This procedural challenge prevents the passage of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act. Thune indicated that eliminating the filibuster, a move he described as 'nuking,' lacks sufficient support.

Senator John Thune (R-S.D.) stated on Tuesday that the votes required to overcome the legislative filibuster are not currently available within his conference. This lack of support directly affects the potential passage of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act.
According to Thune, the only method to advance this legislation would involve eliminating the legislative filibuster. He further noted that there is not anywhere close to enough support within his conference for such a change, which he referred to as "nuking" the filibuster.
