TV Actor Rohit Chandel Arrested Under POCSO Act in Mumbai
Television actor Rohit Chandel, known for his role in "Sairaab," has been arrested by Mumbai Police under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The arrest follows a complaint filed by a 16-year-old girl alleging stalking and harassment. Police officials confirmed Chandel's arrest and subsequent remand to judicial custody.

Television actor Rohit Chandel, who appears in the Star Plus show "Sairaab," has been arrested by the Mumbai Police. The arrest is in connection with an alleged case of stalking and harassment involving a minor.
The action was initiated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, alongside provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). According to the complaint filed by a 16-year-old girl, the alleged incident occurred on July 5 near her residential building in Mumbai.
The complainant alleged that Chandel confronted, followed, argued with, verbally harassed, and physically assaulted her. Based on this complaint, the Ghatkopar Police detained the actor. He has been booked under the POCSO Act, as well as Section 115(2) and Section 78 (pertaining to stalking) of the BNS.
Senior Police Inspector Vitthal Laxman Aardekar of Ghatkopar Police Station confirmed that Chandel was produced before a court after his arrest and subsequently remanded to judicial custody. The police official stated that Chandel did not deny the allegations, reportedly confessing to having gone to meet the minor, who was a co-actor.
The complainant alleged that Chandel was pressuring her and would travel from Dahisar to Ghatkopar to meet her, calling her despite being blocked.
