Unreleased Beats Headphones Spotted on World Cup Players
Mystery over-ear Beats headphones have been observed on three World Cup players, sparking speculation about a new product. Spanish player Lamine Yamal, U.S. player Antonee Robinson, and South Korean player Kang-in Lee were each seen with distinct colorways and a unique design, including ultra-thick ear cushions and a slim outer speaker section. These sightings follow an FCC filing in March, which indicated Apple had unreleased Bluetooth over-ear headphones in development.
An unreleased model of Beats over-ear headphones has been prominently featured by several World Cup players, hinting at a forthcoming product launch. These devices showcase new colorways, notably thick ear cushions, and a slender outer speaker section, distinguishing them from existing Beats offerings.
Spanish player Lamine Yamal was first spotted with two pairs of the headphones—one light pink and one cream—on June 5 in Tennessee. He later posted a picture of the light pink pair on June 11. U.S. player Antonee Robinson displayed a two-toned pair with a white exterior and dark blue ear cups in a June 14 post, reportedly wearing them before the June 12 match between the U.S. and Paraguay. South Korean player Kang-in Lee also shared photos on June 14, showing headphones with a white exterior and neon yellow-green ear cushions, worn before the June 11 match against Czechia.
Zooming into images of the headphones worn by Robinson and Lee reveals what appears to be a metallic glint on the adjustable part of the headband. This observation suggests the headphones might not be foldable, a potential departure from the design of the Beats Studio Pro, which were released in 2023. The new headphones also feature USB-C charging and at least one on-ear tactile button.
The appearance of these headphones follows an FCC filing by Apple in March, which detailed an unreleased pair of Bluetooth over-ear headphones. It remains unclear whether the spotted headphones represent an updated version, a limited edition of an existing product, or an entirely new addition to the Beats lineup.
According to Mashable Tech, Beats has not yet commented on the unreleased product.
