This statement refutes earlier reports of its cancellation, providing clarity on the project's status. Konietzko indicated that further information regarding the game would be released in July.
Bryan Konietzko, co-creator of the popular "Avatar: The Last Airbender" series, has confirmed that a previously reported AAA Avatar role-playing game (RPG) has not been canceled. In an Instagram post, Konietzko stated that the untitled project is "still alive" and indicated that more news would be shared in July.
This update addresses earlier reports suggesting that Paramount Games had canceled the AAA Avatar RPG, which was reportedly under development at Saber Interactive. Saber Interactive is known for its work on titles such as "Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine."
The confirmation comes amid what has been described as a challenging period for the Avatar franchise, which also saw the upcoming film, "Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender," reportedly leak online.
According to Polygon, Konietzko's statement provides assurance to fans eagerly awaiting the game's release.
