Baldur's Gate 3 Players Identify Gaming Personality on Title Screen
A viral post by a Baldur's Gate 3 player, utilizing a camera mod to zoom in on the game's title screen, has sparked discussion across social media. Many X (formerly Twitter) users quickly identified one of the figures as Geoff Keighley, a prominent figure in the gaming industry known for hosting The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest. Both Keighley and developer Larian Studios have responded to the online speculation regarding the character's identity.

A player of the expansive game Baldur's Gate 3 shared a post that gained significant traction online. The post featured an image from the game's title screen, captured using a camera mod that allowed for a closer look at the previously indistinct figures.
The caption accompanying the viral image, which questioned the identity of the characters, prompted numerous X users to suggest a strong resemblance between one of the figures and Geoff Keighley. Keighley is widely recognized in the gaming community as the founder and host of major events such as The Game Awards and Summer Game Fest.
Keighley himself acknowledged the discussion, weighing in on the similarities earlier today. Larian Studios, the developer behind Baldur's Gate 3, also participated in the conversation, jokingly remarking that the character was "John Larian."
Despite the internet's discovery, Larian Studios has indicated that it does not intend to revisit Dungeons and Dragons' Forgotten Realms, the setting for Baldur's Gate 3. According to CEO Swen Vincke, returning to that world would be contrary to the studio's philosophy.
Larian Studios is currently focused on the development of its next title, simply named Divinity, which is an entry in its existing Divinity series. This game was previously unveiled at a past iteration of The Game Awards.
