A senior Department of Justice (DOJ) official presented arguments to a federal appeals court on Tuesday concerning a proposed ballroom for President Trump.
According to the official, a foiled plot to attack an outdoor Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at the White House over the weekend serves as further proof that the proposed ballroom is needed for security reasons.
The official was identified as Brett Shumate, the assistant attorney general for the DOJ’s Civil Division, who made the argument to the court.
