Enginefall Blends Snowpiercer Concept with Extraction Shooter Mechanics
Enginefall is an upcoming PvPvE first-person shooter that combines the concept of the "Snowpiercer" movie with extraction genre mechanics. Players control scavengers who live on small trains and must raid larger, resource-rich locomotives for fuel and supplies. The game offers incentives for both violent and peaceful approaches as players progress through dangerous train cars to secure high-tier rewards.

Enginefall is an anticipated PvPvE first-person shooter drawing inspiration from the "Snowpiercer" concept. The game, slated for release later this year, tasks players with surviving an uninhabitable wasteland by scavenging for resources on massive trains that traverse the globe.
Players operate from a personal, smaller train where they can 3D print armor, weapons, and supplies. To fuel their home train, players must grapple onto and pillage behemoth-sized trains. Entry typically occurs from the rearmost car, where defenses are low, allowing players to advance through the train in search of needed resources.
Progression through the train cars increases both risk and reward. Closer to the front of the train, players can find large caches of resources, high-tier weapons, and advanced equipment, but they also encounter more formidable opponents, including other players. Transfer points between cars prevent backward movement and create strategic choke points.
Extraction mechanics allow players to jettison gear from specific train cars or call in their home train for extraction, though such actions alert other players to their location. Players can also establish makeshift bases within the trains to hoard loot, craft items, and create spawn points, which are also vulnerable to invasion by other players.
The game world includes non-player characters such as crazed scavengers, who act as zombie-like dangers in less-traveled areas, and corporate soldiers who maintain peace in designated "safe zones." These safe zones enforce non-aggression among players but offer limited interaction.
A unique event, "enginefall," occurs when a raided train is depleted, triggering a timer for its derailment and explosion. Players on board must then scramble to escape back to their personal trains, often resulting in intense, last-minute confrontations.
