FCC Plans Retroactive Ban on Disguised DJI Gadgets
The U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is preparing to implement its power to retroactively ban gadgets that have already received approval for import and sale in the United States. This marks the first time the agency will use this authority. The action specifically targets "DJI front companies" accused of circumventing a foreign drone ban by concealing the Chinese company's technology. Products such as Skyrover drones and Xtra cameras are among those affected by the proposed ban.

Two Fridays prior to this development, the FCC had already proposed a $25,000 fine against eight of these "front companies." The current proposal by the FCC escalates these measures beyond fines, moving towards a comprehensive ban on the identified companies and their products.
