Federal Judge Upholds Former Wisconsin Judge's Obstruction Conviction
U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman recently upheld the conviction of former Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan. Dugan was convicted for assisting an undocumented individual in evading Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers. Judge Adelman declined to reconsider the conviction without setting a new sentencing date, after previously postponing it on June 3.
A federal judge on Tuesday upheld the conviction of a former Wisconsin judge who was found guilty of helping an undocumented man evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman declined to reconsider the conviction of former Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan. This decision was made without rescheduling a new sentencing date for Dugan.
Judge Adelman had previously postponed Dugan's sentencing on June 3.
According to The Hill, the conviction relates to allegations that Judge Dugan assisted an individual in avoiding ICE officers.
