Genesis AI Unveils Eno Robot with Non-Human Appearance
Genesis AI, a French startup, has introduced Eno, a new robot that redefines conventional humanoid design. Eno is designed around human capability rather than human appearance, challenging the notion that robots must look human. It might not feature a head or legs, instead utilizing a wheeled base that can fold down. Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt backs the company.
Genesis AI, a French startup, has unveiled its new robot named Eno. The company asserts that "humanoid robots don't need to look human," which informs Eno's distinctive design.
Eno's design diverges significantly from typical human-like forms. It may not possess a head or legs, potentially featuring a wheeled base and the ability to fold down. Genesis AI states that Eno is designed "around human capability" rather than replicating human appearance.
The robot is intended as a fully "general-purpose" machine, distinguishing it from robots built for single tasks. While its overall form departs from human resemblance, Eno's hands are a notable exception, designed to "exactly match the form and function" of human hands.
Genesis AI is backed by Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google. According to The Verge, this backing supports the startup's innovative approach to robot development.
