The Google Home Speaker, the company's first new smart speaker in six years, is set to begin shipping on June 29th. This launch narrowly misses its previously promised spring window. Preorders for the speaker became available on June 17th.
The device is priced at $99. Its hardware specifications have remained unchanged since its initial announcement nine months ago. The speaker features a slightly squished round design, incorporating touch-capacitive buttons on its top surface and a light ring at the bottom to indicate its status.
The Google Home Speaker is offered in four color options: porcelain (white), hazel (black), jade (green), and berry (red). The jade and berry color variants are exclusively available in the US market. The device is also noted to be built for Gemini for Home.
According to The Verge, nothing has changed hardware-wise for the speaker in the nine months since its announcement.
