Jackery has introduced the FridgeGuard, a new power station marketed as the "world's slimmest" fridge battery. This device is designed to provide essential battery backup for refrigerators during electrical outages.
The FridgeGuard measures 2.63 inches (67mm) in thickness, allowing it to be placed discreetly on top of, beside, or behind a refrigerator. Its design aims to blend into home environments, offering a more appealing aesthetic compared to traditional power stations often associated with job sites.
Upon a power outage, the FridgeGuard automatically activates with a 10ms UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) switchover. It features 800W of AC output, with a peak output of 1600W, and is equipped with a 1kWh LFP battery. This capacity is sufficient to keep a typical US fridge/freezer combination operational for about 10 hours. Users can double this runtime by adding an optional 1kWh expansion battery.
According to The Verge, the FridgeGuard aims to address the growing trend for home battery backup solutions for essential appliances.
