Devin Kim, a former engineer at Elon Musk’s xAI, has initiated a lawsuit alleging wrongful termination. The lawsuit, filed in California state court on Tuesday, claims Kim was dismissed after raising concerns about artificial intelligence risks and working to implement safety mechanisms for the Grok chatbot.
Kim asserts that his endeavors to place 'guardrails' on the development of Grok led to him becoming a target for the company's leadership. He is currently at the helm of a thinktank dedicated to AI safety.
The lawsuit states that Kim was fired from the SpaceX subsidiary, in which xAI operates, due to these safety-related actions.
