LinkedIn Launches 'Connected Apps' for Skill Verification
LinkedIn is introducing a new "connected apps" feature to allow users to prove their proficiency with applications relevant to their professional lives. This feature enables users to link a selection of supported apps to their LinkedIn profile, providing a specific description of how they use each application. Launching with 19 apps, this initiative expands on previous collaborations aimed at skill verification.
LinkedIn has rolled out a new "connected apps" feature designed to help users demonstrate their proficiency with software applications pertinent to their current or prospective jobs.
Beginning today, users can link supported applications directly to their LinkedIn profiles. Each connected app is intended to provide a "simple, specific description of how you actually use it," according to the platform.
The feature is launching with 19 available connected apps, with LinkedIn indicating that more will be added in the future. This builds upon collaborations that LinkedIn initially introduced in January 2026, which allowed users to verify skills through integrations with services such as Duolingo, Descript, Lovable, Relay.app, and Replit. These existing collaborations will now be integrated into the new connected apps section on LinkedIn profiles.
According to The Verge, the initiative aims to simplify the process for users to validate their practical application skills.
