Rhode Island Fugitive Ronald Fischer Arrested After 20 Years, Worked as Biotech Executive Under Alias
Ronald Fischer, a 70-year-old individual listed among Rhode Island's most-wanted fugitives, has been apprehended after 20 years on the run. Fischer, a former doctor convicted of sexual assault, reportedly lived a secret life as a biotech executive. He was arrested last week by federal and Rhode Island authorities off the coast of New Jersey.
Ronald Fischer, a 70-year-old individual who was among Rhode Island's most-wanted fugitives, has been arrested after two decades. Fischer, a former doctor, had been convicted of sexual assault and disappeared in 2005 while on trial for first-degree sexual assault.
Authorities located and boarded a 56-foot sailboat off the coast of New Jersey to make the arrest last week. The vessel was registered under the name Richard Graydon, an alias confirmed by U.S. Marshals as being used by Fischer.
This alias, Richard Graydon, is also the name of a doctor and experienced drug development executive. This individual was hired last March by Immix Biopharma, a Los Angeles-based biotech company, to serve as its new chief medical officer.
According to STAT News, Fischer appears to have been living a secret life as a biotech executive under this false identity.
