Sindh Cabinet Approves Provincial Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27
The Sindh cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposed provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 during a session chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. The budget reportedly addresses the needs of all classes and includes efforts to eradicate poverty within the province. A decision regarding the minimum wage for workers was also made as part of the budget.
The Sindh cabinet, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, has approved the proposed provincial budget for the fiscal year 2026-27. The approval came during a cabinet session held on Wednesday, as reported by state broadcaster PTV.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who also holds the portfolio of the finance department, stated that the proposed budget caters to every class and includes measures aimed at eradicating poverty across the province. The Sindh government also determined the minimum wage for workers within the new budget.
Chief Minister Shah is scheduled to present the province’s budget during the Sindh Assembly session later today.
During the cabinet meeting, participants reportedly acknowledged and appreciated the "record" development initiatives undertaken during the previous fiscal year. The cabinet also reaffirmed its dedication to public service under the leadership of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.
According to Dawn Pakistan, the budget also includes an increase in the minimum wage for workers.
