Strasbourg Nears Signing of Polish Goalkeeper Milosz Piekutowski
RC Strasbourg Alsace is reportedly close to signing 20-year-old Polish goalkeeper Milosz Piekutowski from Jagiellonia Bialystok. The move follows Piekutowski's impressive performance in a UEFA Europa Conference League match against Strasbourg last season. He is expected to join on a three-year deal, with an option for a fourth, and serve as the club's number two goalkeeper.
RC Strasbourg Alsace is reportedly set to acquire promising young Polish goalkeeper Milosz Piekutowski, 20, from Jagiellonia Bialystok.
The transfer comes after Piekutowski notably impressed during Jagiellonia Bialystok's UEFA Europa Conference League encounter against Le Racing (Strasbourg) last season.
According to reports, Piekutowski is expected to sign a three-year contract with Strasbourg, which includes an option for an additional year. Jagiellonia Bialystok will receive a compensation fee of €400,000 for the transfer.
Upon joining, Piekutowski is anticipated to assume the role of the number two goalkeeper for the Alsace club in the upcoming season. The identity of Strasbourg's primary goalkeeper remains unconfirmed.
This signing comes as Strasbourg prepares for several departures in their goalkeeping ranks. Mike Penders will return to his parent club, Chelsea, while Karl-Johan Johnsson and Stefan Bajic are set to leave once their contracts expire. Bajic is reportedly moving to Aix-la-Chapelle.
For the past two seasons, Strasbourg, a club owned by BlueCo, has reportedly utilized goalkeepers on loan from fellow BlueCo-owned club Chelsea. Piekutowski is expected to provide crucial depth as a backup for the new season.
