Tottenham Rejects Brighton's €35 Million Bid for Luka Vušković
Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly rejected an initial €35 million transfer bid from Brighton & Hove Albion for Croatian defender Luka Vušković, 19. According to a report by Florian Plettenberg, Brighton is anticipated to submit a revised offer after their first approach was immediately turned down. Vušković, who played on loan at Hamburg during the 2025/26 season, reportedly has a verbal agreement with the south coast club.
Tottenham Hotspur has turned down an opening offer of €35 million from Brighton & Hove Albion for Croatian defender Luka Vušković, aged 19. Reports indicate that Brighton is expected to make a subsequent offer after their initial bid was rejected.
Vušković spent the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Hamburg, where he achieved recognition as the Young Player of the Season and was named in Get German Football News’ Team of the Season. During his time at Hamburg, he set a Bundesliga record by winning 18 aerial duels in a single match against Union Berlin. He also finished the season as Hamburg's second-highest scorer in the Bundesliga, behind fellow loanee Fabio Vieira.
The young defender reportedly has a verbal agreement with Brighton. Previously, Vušković was expected to sign a new contract with Tottenham before joining Hamburg on loan for the 2026/27 season, according to The Independent. Brighton's pursuit of Vušković comes after they reportedly rejected an offer from Tottenham for their player, Jan Paul van Hecke.
According to Yahoo Sports Soccer, Brighton appears to be actively pushing for the transfer of the player.
