Akshay Kumar Denies Receiving Rs. 1.8 Crore Fee for 'Welcome To The Jungle'
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has refuted reports suggesting he charged Rs. 1.8 crore for his role in the upcoming film 'Welcome To The Jungle'. Speaking at the film's trailer launch event in Mumbai, Kumar clarified that he received less than the reported amount. He highlighted the project's significance, attributing it to the late writer Neeraj Vora and producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah, whom he has known for 36 years. The film is scheduled for release on June 26.

The trailer launch for the film 'Welcome To The Jungle' was held at a studio in Mumbai, attended by a host of stars including Akshay Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Tusshar Kapoor, and others. Dialogue writer Farhad Samji, director Ahmed Khan, producer Ajit Andhare, and co-producer Shaira Ahmed Khan were also present. The venue was decorated to resemble a jungle, featuring a large, artificial waterfall, enhancing the atmosphere for the event.
During the event, a journalist inquired about recent reports claiming Akshay Kumar's fee for the film was Rs. 1.8 crore. Kumar directly addressed the speculation, stating, “To be honest, whoever told you that I’ve charged Rs. 1.8 crores, maine utna bhi nahin liya. Mujhe utna bhi nahin mila!” He implied that his remuneration was less than the amount reported.
Kumar further elaborated on the personal importance of the film to him, emphasizing that the story was written by the late Neeraj Vora. He acknowledged Vora, along with Priyadarshan and Rajkumar Santoshi, as significant mentors in his career, particularly in learning comedy. He also noted the involvement of producer Firoz A. Nadiadwallah, whom he has known for 36 years, dating back to his early struggling days in the industry.
